This is a great book if you are bootstrapping your startup, organisation or nonprofit. Buckminster Fuller in 1938, is the ability of technological advancement to do "more and more with less and less until eventually you can do everything with nothing," that is, an accelerating increase in the efficiency of achieving the same or more output (products, services, information, etc.) She is written by Nancy Lublin. She spent decades working in the not for profit sector and is the CEO of well-known charities including dosomething.org and Dress For Success. Lublin offers and Incredibly refreshing take on how to make your business budget go further and eventually do everything with nothing. Make sure that everyone feels like an ambassador for your brand. Nancy asks us how can we provide a service and make people feel special and make people actually become an ambassador and an evangelist for a product. It's important to keep your brand simple and clear and to write everything down For example she discusses Nothing But Nets, a charity which provides mosquito nets to those in need the charity has detailed absolutely everything down in a huge dossier from their fonts the colouring and absolutely everything that the organisation uses. Another a great another great idea that she shares is that how can we make sure that our staff almost feel like alumni in the same way that universities and colleges do. Detailed ways of how you can improve the experience of your staff members for example encouraging them to set their own goals. I like to achieve working at your brand I have that sort of self-determination On self-direction they're way more likely to achieve those goals. Thing I love about this book is that chest that's the best form of marketing is word of mouth. Think creatively, how can your staff network friends, family, donors, interns share the story of your brand? At the end of every chapter Nancy puts down 11 questions that we need to ask ourselves and it gives us a really solid direction in which to go. I would definitely recommend this book if you're at the beginning stages of setting up your business or if you feel that your brand could do with a real refresh. This footage shows you how everything can be created with nothing and that it truly is possible to do incredible things with a budget of zilch.
